Goa Police AI-ML Lab
In collaboration with Samruddh Bharat Technologies, the Goa Police AI-ML Lab is responsible for building, refining, and auditing all AI systems used by Goa Police, and developing modern tools for police departments across the nation — from Smart Force to Deep Trace to the 1930 helpline's AI assistant, Indu.
Origin
The Goa Police AI-ML Lab began in February 2025 as a partnership between Goa Police and Samruddh Bharat Technologies, established at the Crime Branch in Ribandar. It was established following the vision and recommendations of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji at the DGP/IGP Conferences of 2022 and 2023, which called for the use of AI and ML in policing, crime prevention, investigation and public service delivery — making it the first lab of its kind in the nation.
What it's produced
Smart Force (launched October 2025), Deep Trace (launched May 2025), and Indu for the 1930 helpline (launched September 2026) all trace back to work done under the Lab.
