  4. “Application” means the software program developed for the Service by the Company which is downloadable by any User on any electronic Device, including mobile phone.

  6. “Consent” means voluntary consent given by You to the Company to receive and process your Personal Information and data in accordance with this Policy. Consent may be explicit or inferred as defined herein.
  7. “Citizens” means all citizens living in Goa either permanently or temporarily and including all foreign citizens and citizens from other States of India visiting Goa for holidaying or for business purpose or otherwise.
  8. “Device” means any electronic device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cell phone or a digital tablet.
  9. “Force Majeure Event” means and includes but not limited to fire, flood, explosion, earthquake, natural disaster, pandemic, epidemic, drought or bad weather, lightning, or any act of God, acts of state, strikes, acts of war (whether declared or not), hostilities, terrorism, riots, civil disorders or commotion, lockouts, industrial disputes, rebellions or revolutions, blockages; quarantines, embargoes and other similar governmental action and any other reason whatsoever beyond our control.

  11. “Operator” means the government of Goa and includes all agencies engaged by it to operate the Platform for the safety and security of the Citizens.
  12. “Personal data” means any data about an individual who is identifiable by or in relation to such data;
  13. “Personal Information” means any information and data related to an individual User disclosed and/or automatically generated on the Platform in course of availing of the Service and includes all information shared by the Users on the Platform pertaining to his/her identity.
  14. “Platform” means the technology platform, application software, including mobile application, including the application platform “Mera Neta”, website, developed and owned by the Company which is accessible by creating a User account for availing the Service.
  15. “Processing” in relation to personal data means an automated operation or set of operations performed on digital personal data, and may include operations such as collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation, alteration, retrieval, use, alignment or combination, indexing, sharing, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, restriction, erasure or destruction.
  16. “Service” means all activities doable and services available on the Platform related to safety and security measures of all citizens including foreign nationals either living, permanently or temporarily, or visiting for holidaying, undertaking trips for business purpose or otherwise and include all support services provided by us as may be required by any User.
  17. “User(s)” means any individual accessing the Platform for using the Service and includes “you” and “your” as referred to in this Policy.
  18. “Website” means the website of the Company having links to the Platform and the mobile application.
ABOUT THIS PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, process, and protect any Personal Information that are disclosed by any User and/or generated on the Platform while accessing and using the Service. WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION IS COLLECTED FROM USERS

Personal Information that you provide: When you seek to access to the Platform to use our Service, you may be asked to provide certain Personal Data that can be used to contact or identify you for safety and security purpose. Such Personal Data may include, but is not limited to, email address, phone number, first name, middle name, last name, government approved photo identity proof, and all other information and data related to identity of User. We may take and store the images of the Users for identification and do video and/or audio recordings their conversations and activities as may be required by the Operator of the Platform for safety and security purpose and/or for any other lawful purpose.

HOW THE PERSONAL INFORMATION CAN BE USED
  1. We may use personal information for the following purposes:
    • Providing the Service: To operate and ensure operation of the Platform 24/7/365 for being used by Operator for and by the Users for the purpose of reporting and/or tracking any untoward incident and taking appropriate measures for the safety and security of the Citizens.
    • Maintain and improve our Service: To maintain, improve, and further develop the Service, including monitoring the usage of the Service by the Users and other services provided by Us and/or through the Platform, by analysing and developing statistics on use of the Service.
    • Managing and maintaining accounts: To manage registration of Users of the Service and provide maintenance services for uninterrupted operation of the Platform by Operator and the Users, except interruption on account of any Force Majeure Event.
    • Connecting with Users: To contact with Users by through the Platform, email, telephone calls, alert notifications, SMS, or other equivalent forms of electronic communication for the purpose of ensuring safety and security of the Citizens and averting any untoward incidents.
    • Providing personalized information: To provide Users with relevant news, special offers and general information about any special services including updates from time to time as may be required for the purpose of safety and security of Citizens.
    • Manage requests: To attend, manage and answer the requests, distress calls and queries of the Users.
    • For other purposes: We may use the Personal Information for other purposes, such as data analysis, digitization of data, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of the Platform, evaluating and improving the Services as may be required for the safety and security of the Citizens.
  2. We may also use the Personal Information for legitimate purpose including but not limited to the following:
    • To provide, operate, and maintain our Platform 24/7/365.
    • To understand and analyze the use of the Platform by the Operator and the Users.
    • To develop new Applications, services, features, and functionality.
    • To communicate with the Citizens.
    • To provide Users with other relevant information.
    • To carry on marketing and promotional activities.
    • To understand Users’ needs and interests to improve engagement and loyalty.
    • To improve our understanding and improvise our Service and develop related services.
    • To respond to Users’ inquiries or responding to Users’ requests for any help or Service.
    • To resolve any technical glitch ensuring uninterrupted use of the Platform.
    • To detect and prevent any identity theft, and other potentially illegal acts.
    • To provide information to law enforcement agencies or in connection with an investigation on matters related to public safety.
    • To comply with Applicable Law.
    • To resolve disputes and troubleshoot problems.
    • To assist in any investigations or complaints.
    • To provide Users with relevant information and other services that may be requested Operator or which we feel may interest Users.
  3. We may also use the Personal Information on a good faith belief that the disclosure is necessary to prevent fraud, defend the Platform against cyber-attacks, or to protect the information and interest of the Company, and that of the Operator and Users, as the case may be.

TRANSFER OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.

Personal Information, including Personal Data, is processed by the Operator and at the Company's operating offices and at any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located. Operator has the right to retain the Personal Information as per their requirements.

ACCESS OF SERVICES BY CHILDREN

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from anyone under the age of 18 without verification of parental consent, We take steps to remove that data from Our servers.
